Liz joined the Improvement Academy team in May 2014. She currently provides leadership to our Achieving Behaviour Change (ABC) and Achieving Reliable Care for Safety (ARCS) programmes.

Liz is an experienced coach, supporting frontline teams across a wide range of healthcare settings in the practical application of implementation and improvement science. This includes the use of behaviour change techniques to provide teams a deeper insight into the barriers and facilitators to implementing best practice for patient safety.

Liz has worked in the NHS for 22 years in a variety of roles across safety, clinical governance and risk management. This included 6 years as the Patient Safety Manager in a large acute Trust where she supported patient safety improvements such as reducing medication errors, implementation of the WHO surgical checklist, and improving recognition of the deteriorating patient through the implementation of the National Early Warning Score.
