Liz joined the Improvement Academy in May 2014 working as an Implementation Manager supporting frontline teams to implement safety initiatives such as implementing safety huddles and improving patient flow. Being based in Hull, Liz is able to support teams in the East Yorkshire and Humber region. Liz is now a project manager for the ARC project.
Liz has worked in the NHS for 14 years in a variety of roles across safety, clinical governance and risk management. Most recently, she spent 6 years as the Patient Safety Manager at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Through this role Liz completed the Leading Improvements in Patient Safety (LIPS) programme run by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement which led to her project managing the Patient Safety First Campaign within the Trust. Since, she has supported a number of projects to improve patient safety, including reducing medication errors, implementing NICE guidance for anti-coagulation, implementation of the WHO surgical checklist, and improving recognition of the deteriorating patient through the implementation of the National Early Warning Score.
Our partnerships are centred in the Yorkshire and Humber region but extend nationally. We are continuously developing our partnerships and relationships with health and care organisations.
