Angad is an Emergency Medicine registrar who took a year out of programme as a Clinical Leadership Fellow. Projects he worked on include:

• Achieving Reliable Care in ED – the ARC approach has been very successfully applied to improve safety and patient flow in one ED department. It is being tested is a second ED department. Implementation includes use of culture and patient experience diagnostics.
• Deteriorating patients – supporting the regional implementation of NEWS2 in acute Trusts and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
• Improving the implementation of Advanced Care Planning – building on results obtained from recent workshops which helped develop a better understanding of barriers and enablers to Advanced Care Planning.

He hopes that his experience of the projects with Improvement Academy and the skills learnt over the last year will allow him to have a positive impact on patient safety in the NHS.
