Oliver is experienced in working in General Medicine and is a Clinical Oncology Registrar in West Yorkshire. He joined the Improvement Academy From August 2020 – August 2021, as a Clinical Leadership Fellow and was involved in projects that promoted positive organisational change to improve patient safety and enhance patient care.

As part of the Learning from Deaths project he helped to expand the use of Structured Judgement Review in wider healthcare settings, which through the identification of learning themes can allow targeted quality improvement interventions within these organisations. Oliver also took an active role within current regional projects such Achieving Reliable Care for Safety (ARCS) and the Patient Safety Collaborative.

As part of the year Oliver developed his understanding of the structure of the NHS and its partner organisations and completed a PG certificate in Leadership in Health and Social Care.
