A Masterclass on Hospital Mortality Statistics

Professor Mohammed has extensive experience in health care quality in both primary and secondary care and has published a number of key papers on the use and abuse of mortality statistics. His report probing variations in Dr Foster Standardised Hospital Mortality Rations in hospitals in the West Midlands has generated widespread interest and represents an important milestone in our understanding of the relationship between quality of care and case-mix adjusted mortality.
