The workshop/event is FREE to all NHS and Care organisation staff within the Yorkshire and Humber region, but a cancellation charge of £50 may apply if less than 48 hours’ notice is given.


This is a workshop to help people structure the complex and messy problems in their own organisation, and turn them into focused questions with clear scope, outputs, resources needed, stakeholders to involve and methods to solve the problem.

The event will be delivered by:

Martin Pitt
Associate Professor of Healthcare Modelling and Simulation , Director of PenCHORD, NIHR CLAHRC for the South West Peninsula (PenCLAHRC)

Martin has a long-standing and wide ranging experience in healthcare modelling ranging from economic modelling in health technology assessment to discrete event simulation and operational models for service re-design.

Daniel Chalk
Research Fellow in Applied Healthcare Modelling and Analysis, PenCHORD, NIHR CLAHRC for the South West Peninsula (PenCLAHRC)

Daniel leads a series of training programmes and associate schemes at the NIHR CLAHRC for the South West Peninsula to build capacity in the health service to generate and use evidence from models.  He has over six years of experience working with the NHS to build computer models that can help to identify problems in the service, and predict the impact of changes.
